communicators use multiple ways to make their point, get
attention, build relationship and demonstrate what they
know. Here are the five ways to practice communicating:
Talk
Most people are good at this. Talking is second nature for
most of us and is a super way to communicate with others.
Check out the Communication Hot Tips page for three things
that you can do to be a better verbal communicator.
Listen
The most overlooked leadership communication tool is the
ability to be a good listener. Most people don't listen well
because they are always thinking about what they're going to
say when it's their turn. Listening takes practice.

three things to make you an excellent listener.
Write & Draw
Especially when language is a barrier, use visuals to make
things clear. Draw pictures and share them to spread your
ideas. Write your thoughts down and keep a journal of your
own learning experiences.
Do it. Take Action.
Nothing makes a clearer statement than your actions. Every
time you take action, people that observe you will
understand what you are all about.
Body Language
Remember, even when your mouth is shut, your body is sending
messages to everyone around you. Make sure that your body is
sending positive signals. |
